Electrophoreses on serum and urine for the diagnoses of various disorders like immunoproliferative diseases, acute / chronic inflammatory diseases and liver cirrhosis, and the detection of oligoclonal bands in cerebrospinal fluid of patients with multiple sclerosis.
Metabolic / Genetic disorders:
Tests / screening for porphyria, cystic fibrosis, haemochromatosis, coeliac disease and others.
Screening for Abnormalities in Pregnancy: e.g. Down’s syndrome in the 1st and 2nd trimester.
